Let me introduce myself: my name is Carrie Curran and I’m excited to be connecting with you. I am a wife, a mother and a follower of Jesus. To the view of some, I am a quiet and introspective person that doesn’t have a lot to say. And to some degree that is true. However, I am also one that loves to hear the matters of the heart of others and as I look back on my life, I have always been that way. I still remember saying as a young child, “But you don’t know their heart.”
I am a heart girl through and through. I love to learn and understand what make people tick and what their passions are. People are so uniquely different and God intended it to be that way. We can learn and grow so much from each other if we just take the time to sit and listen to the heart of each person.
So as you read through my blog and explore the contents of this site, my hope is that you are as blessed as I have been as I write and share. The Lord has been overflowing revelation and has abundantly been bringing the Scripture alive in my life and the life of my family in a clear and refreshing way and has impressed on my heart to share with all who desire to take this journey together.
I grew up in the small town of Milaca, MN in a Christian home. Upon graduation, I attended Bethel University in St Paul, MN followed by MorningStar University in Fort Mill, SC where my primary focus was in Christian Ministry.
In 2004 I married the love of my life and best friend and in 2006 we had our first of three wonderful children. After spending 13 years living in the breathtaking Bitterroot Valley in Western Montana (where we served in our local church, schools, various non-profits and women’s ministries) the Lord directed our family back to where it all began. He is ever flowing in our lives; we want to follow His lead and be the same light and love to the people around us.
We currently reside in Mankato, MN where I am now a Program Advocate for the Brother/Sister Mentoring Program. My husband, Matthew and I have a burning heart for ongoing transformation in our local church, community, our great nation and globally. God is so good and He is ever flowing in our lives and we want to follow His lead and be the same, light and love to the people all around us.
Why Start A Blog?
My ever-increasing passion to Love God and Love People- regardless of the walk of life they come from has created a burning to share through personal life experiences, experiences of others (*disclaimer: names and locations may be changed to maintain confidentiality*) through the use of technology. A blog does not mean that the day to day experiences through human interaction, study, prayer and reading of scripture are not crucial, but it is a way for us all to be encouraged that we are not alone in this world as we all have life experiences that are unique to us, our families and our personal circles of influence.
This life is full of victories and defeat, but together and with the power of the Holy Spirit ultimately WE DO HAVE VICTORY!
So when I share a post, feel free to share a verse, an encouraging word to encourage others, or even your own story; both on The Joyful Imagination or on the social media of your choosing.
My hope is that my ever-growing faith and pursuit of Jesus will inspire you to press in and find balance and joy in the incredibly fast paced moments of this life, while living with an eternal perspective.
